Motorcycle.com New Riders Series

To partner with Yamaha and create an evergreen piece of content for them to sponsor, we worked with the team at Motorcycle.com to prepare a 5-part educational series meant as a rounded introduction to motorcycling.

Hosted by MO.com editor Troy Siahaan and starring two California-based novices, Kevin and Rosslyn, this series was shot in Fall 2023 at a variety of locations, with each video focusing on a different aspect of motorcycling, from picking the right bike, to riding basics, to customization and maintenance.

The resulting series is a polished, well put-together piece of content that we hope will stay relevant for many years to come. As well as sponsoring the series, Yamaha products were also heavily featured throughout. The two new riders were genuine novices who took an introduction course and learnt the basics throughout the series, culminating in the track montage you see in the final episode.

Toyota Tacoma & Land Cruiser

In one of our biggest collaborations with Toyota to date, we travelled to southern Utah to film back-to-back projects for the 2025 Toyota Tacoma and Land Cruiser models. Following our winning formula that we employed with our 2022 GR Corolla project, we hired known Toyota reps to host these videos on AutoGuide.com’s YouTube channel.

Pro 4 champion and Toyota-sponsored racer CJ Greaves was brought on board for the Tacoma video, demonstrating to viewers the methods and best practices for driving over a variety of terrain using both the TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims of the Tacoma.

For the Land Cruiser, we brought in LC expert Kurt Williams (aka “Cruiser Kurt”) co-chair of Salt Lake City’s Land Cruiser museum, to host the video. Since not everything was known about the Land Cruiser at this point, we worked with Toyota on an “Ask Me Anything”, taking viewer-suggested questions from VerticalScope’s forum communities and basing the script on Toyota’s answers.

This was a very successful collaboration and further cemented our formula for these Toyota videos. We plan to work with Toyota on many more future partnerships to continue to bring great content like this to our channels.

Employee Testimonials – Kia Canada

After our previous collaboration with Kia on their EV Owner Stories series, we were contacted by Andrea de Silva with Kia’s HR team to create a video for their website to promote the company as a great place to further your career.

Adopting a similar interview style to the EV Owner Stories, along with dynamic B-Roll, we spent 2 days at Kia’s offices, getting to know the staff and exploring the space. We sought to promote the office as a great work environment and get the thoughts of the staff on the office culture and positive future of the company.

We are happy to have Kia as a client and hope to do similar collaborations with their HR, PR, and marketing teams in the years to come.

Year-In-Review 2023

Here’s a little look back at some of our favourite projects from last year. Whether it was our two trips to southern Utah or our week-long shoot in Vancouver, 2023 provided plenty of great opportunities and adventures, and allowed us to create some of our best content yet!

Subaru 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness

As a kind of follow-up to the Crosstrek video earlier this year, we were tasked with creating a completely different walkaround video for the Wilderness trim – an even more rugged version of Subaru’s flagship model.

We scoured southern Ontario for new and exciting locations, balancing dynamic action shots of the Crosstrek Wilderness with exciting locations for our lifestyle segments, upping the ante with our most exciting lifestyle activity yet – paragliding!

At the end of another year of Subaru walkarounds, this one continued the trend of high-quality lifestyle content consistent with the adventurous Subaru branding. We hope that this great partnership continues into next year!

Bushel Plus

To promote Bushel Plus’ SmartPan system and MAD Concaves to the online U.S./Canadian farming community and potential buyers, we developed video content featuring Josh Fox, a South Dakota farmer, testing out the product. Technical Sales Manager Kris Kristjanson was also on site to give detailed info about the products and how they work.

Shot at Josh’s farm, these videos show what the SmartPan and MAD Concaves can do and inform the online community and intenders alike about how useful they can be.

Sailun Terramax RT

Sailun brought us out to their big event in Las Vegas to unveil and test out their Rugged Terrain Terramax tire, and create video content to support the launch. We filmed B-Roll footage and interviews over the course of 3 days, cutting an event overview video and a “First Ride” review video for AutoGuide.com.

The event was a great showcase of what the tire can do, bringing journalists out onto the Red Rock trails in modified Jeep Wranglers to navigate boulders, jagged rocks, steep terrain, and lots more. The journalists that we interviewed were suitably impressed and lauded the tires for their capability, winter rating, and overall low noise on regular roads.

Kia EV Owner Stories

Kia Canada set up a series of events over the course of the summer promoting their lineup of EVs, and brought in real Kia EV owners to speak to potential customers. They asked us to create profiles of the EV owners to release on their social channels in conjunction with the events. We travelled to the events and these EV drivers’ homes to interview them and capture lifestyle B-Roll to tell their stories and explore why EVs matter to them.

Subaru 2024 Crosstrek Walkaround

On the back of our successful shoot for the Subaru STARLINK project, we moved immediately into our next walkaround for the 2024 Crosstrek, Subaru’s flagship vehicle. A lot was riding on this campaign, so we made sure to deliver on the city driving aspects that show the car as the ideal SUV for daily commutes, while also picking unique locations to demonstrate its capability as an adventure-enabling vehicle. We also made a point to cast for a younger couple to target the late 20s/early 30s demographic.

Subaru Impreza Walkaround

For this walkaround video, there needed to be more emphasis on the urban capability of the vehicle, so we turned to Toronto to find great locations to start and end the video, while still going to rural locations for the main feature-heavy scenes.
